Walking leisurely from alm to alm. Enjoying the fantastic landscape scenery and the many different views, and the still world of the mountains with every breath - that's alm walking. And the best about it is: Along the way there are inviting old traditional huts wehre you can make a comfortable break, and have some delicous hearty food, to help you regain your strenght.

The Salzburgerland is the most alm populated area in Austria with over 1,800 alm huts. About 550 huts are open to walkers for business, and spoil visitors with delicious hearty alm specialities. A walk along the new Salzburger Alm Path across colourful alm pastures and through forests, passing romantic mountain lakes and waterfalls, resting at chapels and crosses at the sides of the paths, turns the Salzburg Alm summer into a very special unique experience.
